FotoMorph
Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I best get started with FotoMorph?
Please run through the tutorial, visit our help section, and play around with the sample animation that comes included with FotoMorph. After trying those options, if you are still unable to resolve your issue, please contact Support and we will do our best to assist you in making your experience with FotoMorph a great one. Be sure to let us know how we can improve FotoMorph even further for you, too.
Thank You!.

2. Can I produce animations from more than two images?
Yes, you can use what FotoMorph calls sequences.
When you have created an animation from the first two images, simply select Add Sequence on the Project Page. The end image of your first sequence is automatic loaded as the start image in the second sequence. You then load a new end image and create a new animation. In this way you can continue to create as many sequences as you like.

3. Why is the speed slower than "real-time"?
FotoMorph uses a rendering engine which makes use of OpenGL hardware acceleration. OpenGL is an industrial graphics standard and is supported by most modern video cards.
If your video card supports this feature, animation speed can be very fast, even
reaching hundreds of frames per second. But, if your video card is old, animation
speed may be under 15 frames per second. In this case, updating your video card is recommended.

4. Why don't the Preview Window show anything?
Your system has some problems with OpenGL hardware acceleration.
First, please choose Start/Control Panel/Display/Settings, make sure the Color quality is "Highest (32 bit)" if possible.
Second, you should update your display driver.

5. What image formats can I import into FotoMorph?
FotoMorph imports BMP, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, TGA and GIF format images.
We are always working with the development of other formats.

6. Which format is the best for export?
Image Sequences: Each animation frame will be saved as an individual file in your
choice of format: JPEG or PNG.
AVI Movie: Familiar video format on Windows platform with perfect quality. Good for importing into movie editing software such as Adobe Premiere. To avoid too large a file size, you can install and use a video Codec (such as MPEG-4 codec from www.divx.com) to compress your movies into smaller files.
Animated GIF: Good for web pages, since GIF files can be viewed by any browser. Note that the overall image quality may be slightly lower because the GIF format only supports 256 colors.
Flash Movie: Best for web pages, very small and high quality. Best choice for sharing with friends by email.
Web Page: Can play flash movie at the original size in Internet Explorer.
Standalone EXE: Export the animation to standalone .exe programs.
Share the .exe programs with friends and they can view your animation without having to install FotoMorph or other player programs.

7. What do I do with my completed animations?
Use your animation images or animation movies to grab people's attention or to have a good time - create web graphics and enhance your web site, email animations to friends and family to make them laugh, burn animations to VCD for enjoying on TV, create a unique online greeting, post your animations on the Internet, add more life to your presentations. If you are a professional user, use your animations in music videos, advertisements, movies, education courseware, and countless other great ways! If your animation is unique and exciting, and you want to share it with other FotoMorph users, you might consider submitting it to us for display.

8. Can I import my morph results into video editing software to make a VCD/DVD?
Of course you can. Just follow the following steps.
Set the animation size to "1280 x 720 (HD Video 16:9 format)", "720 x 576 (DVD PAL)" or "352 x 240 (VCD NTSC)" Set the AVI speed to 25 Frame/Sec (fps).
Export the animation as AVI format.". Now, you can import the exported AVI file into video editing software to make a VCD/DVD.

9. Why doesn't my animation look ntural?
While animation can be produced in many different ways, FotoMorph uses what is
termed the "key dots method." It is effective, fast, and easy to use, but it also
has some limitations. Anchor dots pairs must be in the same logical positions, otherwise, the result may be unconvincing. In this case, carefully adjust dot positions which define the affected areas.
